About Fuse
Fuse ('dana' in sanskrit) is often translated as generosity or giving. It is one of the paramitas (perfections or virtues of wisdom) in buddhism. Generosity can take many forms including the giving of material offerings, giving teachings, giving peace of mind (the allaying of another's fears) or the giving of work. Mostly, when we think of fuse, we associate it with altruistic giving, giving without thought of benefit to oneself.
One of our teachers once taught:
~ Jean Baby"The important thing about fuse is not what we give, but what we are ... in Zen we say that true giving takes place when the giver, the receiver and the gift are all forgotten"
Donate to the IZAUK Property Fund!
As of 7June'08, we've raised £142000 towards our goal of £300000.
The Property Fund
IZAUK's property fund began with a large bequest from our late founder, Nancy Amphoux. Other donations have been made more recently and the fund is dedicated to buying or developing a property towards our aim of promoting zazen in the United Kingdom.
We recently considered buying a former youth hostel in the south of England but we were unable to get a mortgage before we had made the decision whether or not to bid at the auction. The money we collect for the building fund, however, is held in a dedicated fund for any suitable properties we find in the future.
Donating to the Property fund
Any donation of any size will be gratefully accepted and placed in our dedicated fund for eventual use. The more money we raise, the smaller our eventual mortgage will need to be - so please give generously.
How you can help:
- You can make a donation with cheque, cash, or postal order.
- You can set up a regular gift.
Please make cheques and postal orders to IZAUK and include a note saying the gift is for the building project - also mark the back of the cheque building. Then post it to:
